External Security Assessment

We assess your internet-facing systems and exposed services for vulnerabilities and attack paths an external attacker could use to gain a foothold.

See your external attack surface the way an attacker does

An external security assessment reviews what your organization exposes to the public internet — hosts, services, and their configuration — to identify vulnerabilities and realistic external attack paths. Exact testing depends on the agreed scope.

What we assess

Testing is tailored to your application's architecture and the agreed scope — not every area applies to every system. Common areas include:

  • Internet-facing hosts
  • Exposed services
  • TLS configuration
  • Network services
  • Web services
  • Remote access exposure
  • Vulnerability validation
  • Misconfiguration
  • Attack surface discovery
  • External attack paths

Our testing approach

We discover your external attack surface, identify exposed services and misconfigurations, validate vulnerabilities to rule out false positives, and consider how findings could chain into a realistic path to access.

What you receive

  • A report of validated external findings
  • Severity and business impact for each
  • Evidence and remediation guidance
  • Attack-surface observations
  • One complimentary remediation retest for qualifying engagements

Example finding

An illustration of the finding format you can expect. It is fictional and not from any client engagement.

MEDIUMExposed service with weak configuration

An internet-facing service is reachable and misconfigured, increasing exposure to known attacks.

FICTIONAL DEMONSTRATION — NOT A CLIENT REPORT

Who it's for

Organizations that want to understand and reduce what they expose to the public internet, or validate their external posture before a review.

What affects pricing

Pricing depends on the number of hosts and services in scope, and the depth of testing required. Every engagement is quoted after a short scoping conversation, so you know the price before testing begins.

FAQ

Common questions

No. A scan lists potential issues; we validate findings, rule out false positives, and consider real attack paths.
We test carefully within agreed rules of engagement and can schedule around sensitive windows. Destructive testing is excluded unless separately agreed.
External testing is performed from the outside. We only need the in-scope targets and written authorization.
